How to Play
Every game has a Play mode against the AIOS characters, from Maple (friendly, still learning) to JeffyAI (the strongest), and a Watch mode where two of them play and you can bet on the result. Tap a game to read its rules.
Chess
- Goal: checkmate. Attack the other king so it has no safe square and no way to block or capture the attacker.
- Your move: tap a piece, then a square. Legal moves are marked; tap the piece again to cancel. To castle, move the king two squares toward the rook. A pawn that reaches the far row is promoted: pick the piece you want.
- Draws: stalemate (no legal move and not in check), the same position three times, fifty moves each without a capture or a pawn move, or not enough material left to mate.
- Clock: optional, from 1 to 10 minutes. Run out of time and you lose.
- Help: Undo takes back your last move, Flip board turns the board around, and Ask JeffyAI marks a good move.
Checkers
- Goal: capture all of the other side’s pieces, or leave them with no move.
- Your move: pieces move one square diagonally forward on the dark squares. Tap a piece, then a marked square. Black moves first; you can play Black or Silver.
- Jumps: jump over an enemy piece next to you onto the empty square beyond it to capture it. Jumps are compulsory, and a multi-jump must be finished.
- Crowns: a piece that reaches the far row is crowned and the move ends there. Crowned pieces move and jump backward too.
- Draws: forty moves each with no jump or crowning, or the same position three times.
Reversi
- Goal: have more discs of your colour than the other side when the game ends.
- Your move: tap one of the dots. Your disc must trap a straight line of the other colour (across, down or diagonally) between it and another of yours. Every trapped disc turns over. Black moves first; you can play Black or Silver.
- Passing: with no move you pass. When neither side can move, the game ends and most discs wins.
- Tip: a corner can never be turned back, so the squares next to the corners are risky.
Mines
- Goal: open every tile that isn’t a mine. A number shows how many mines touch that tile.
- Open and flag: tap a tile to open it. To mark a mine, right-click, long-press, or press Flag mode and tap. Tap a number whose mines are all flagged to open everything around it at once.
- Solo: clear the board as fast as you can. Your first tile is always safe. If you show the odds or ask JeffyAI, that time isn’t a record.
- Race: you and a house player get the same board, with the opening already clear. Press Start the race. The first clean board wins; hitting a mine loses at once.
- Duel: take turns, one action each. Open a tile for a point per tile it opens, or claim a mine (+3, or −3 if it was safe). Opening a mine costs 10. When every safe tile is open, the higher score wins.
- Golf: nine holes on today’s course, the same for everyone. Every tap is a stroke, flags too, and par is the fewest taps that can clear the hole. A mine is a hazard and adds 2 strokes. Lowest total wins.
- Boards: Square, Hex (six neighbours) or Wraparound (the edges touch the opposite side). Small has 10 mines, Medium 40 and Large 99. Logic-only boards never force a guess.
- Help: Ask JeffyAI rings a tile that is certain to be safe, or the safest guess.
Battle Fleet
- Goal: sink the other side’s whole fleet before it sinks yours.
- Set up: hide five ships (5, 4, 3, 3 and 2 squares) on your 10 by 10 sea, across or down, without overlapping. Tap a ship name, then a square in your waters. Turn switches between across and down, Shuffle places the fleet for you, and tapping a placed ship picks it up again. Press Ready.
- Firing: take turns. Tap a square in the enemy waters. Hits and misses are marked, and a ship sinks when every square of it is hit.
- Shot clock: optional, 20 or 45 seconds. If it runs out, a shot is fired for you.
- With a friend: choose Play a friend online, press Start a game and share the six-character code. Your friend types it and presses Join. Your fleet stays on your device, and a fair play check at the end shows nobody moved a ship. Friend games count for ratings and records, with no bets.
- Help: Ask JeffyAI gives placement tips before the battle and a target during it.
- Neutral ships (Battle): a cruise liner, an oil tanker and a cargo ship of Christmas toys cross the enemy waters in plain sight, a square every other round. Firing on one costs points (liner 200, tanker 300, toy ship 150). The first tap only warns you. A hit liner can get your captain arrested, so you lose your next turn. A tanker blows up and oil goes up 20 cents.
- Rescue Fleet: pick Game: Rescue Fleet. Instead of firing, you search. Each side's ships carry people: a Special Olympics cruise, a Paws for Peace cruise, a food relief ship, a migrant boat, fishermen and more. Find every square of a ship to rescue everyone aboard. Unspotted ships drift on their own, a square every other round, and the smugglers’ speedboat moves twice as fast. A spotted ship holds still, and no ship drifts onto water already searched. Every rescue pays 25 bonus points, 50 more for a quick one, and 100 for intercepting the smugglers. Find all five first to win.
- Looks: Pirate paper, Futuristic, Today’s navy, or the Luxury cruise line.
- Sea size: A–J (10 by 10), A–P (16 by 16) or A–Z (26 by 26). Bigger seas keep their own records. Board size shrinks the seas to fit your screen, and Sound turns the bloops and booms on or off.
Credits, bets and records every game
- One wallet: you start with 1,000 play credits (Sagentica points) and use the same wallet in every game. Credits can’t be bought, sold or cashed out.
- Betting: pick a stake from 10 to 250 and press Bet on yourself before your first move. In Watch mode you can bet on either player. Bets close at the first move.
- Odds: they come from the players’ ratings, and the House keeps 5%, so an even match pays ×1.90. An unfinished game returns bets less 5%.
- Top up: below 10 credits, press Top up 500 and the House gives you 500.
- Records: every result moves the ratings on that game’s leaderboard. The World AIOS Records on this page add up all five games: points, fastest win, win streak, win % and time here. Use the Who and When menus to filter them.
